For business Whilst many of our clients stay in the apartment for leisure breaks/holidays, we have deliberately designed the accommodation to appeal to the business customer also and take great pride in the service we offer to the Corporate Traveller. If you are working in the Worcester area for several days, perhaps while you look for a permanent family home or perhaps on a consultancy basis, the Elgar Suite can be more cost effective and better for business than staying in a hotel or Bed & Breakfast accommodation.
The cost: For one person, the cost of staying at the Elgar Suite is broadly the same as staying in a city-centre hotel.
For example, 4 nights at the Fownes Hotel commencing Monday 21st May 2007 would have cost £380, excluding breakfast, in a standard single room, compared to £336 at The Elgar Suite. The basic room cost is therefore in the region of 13% more expensive at a city business hotel.
However, the individual is likely to have lower subsistence expenses at The Elgar Suite by eating-in for some of the time. For two work colleagues staying in the apartment, you will realise a significant cost saving compared to a hotel stay. Four nights commencing Monday 21st May 2007 would still have cost £336 at The Elgar Suite compared to a minimum of £760 for two people in a hotel…. a saving of over £400.
Facilities: In the Worcester area, you may find it difficult to locate a hotel having business-standard rooms with plenty of work space and broadband internet access. Hotels typically charge around £10 per day for internet access, compared to £10 per week at the Elgar Suite. Our living area has a large table which is suitable for working at. In fact, the design of the apartment would make it entirely suitable to hold business meetings, interviews etc. With a fully fitted kitchen on hand, there’s no expensive costs for refreshments!
Relaxation: A relaxed, contented worker is more likely to be an effective worker. When your staff come back to the apartment at the end of the business day, they can be sure of comfortable, quiet surroundings with a range of audio, TV and video equipment for their entertainment. Although the apartment is located right in the city centre, the double-glazing and sound-proofing ensure a quiet environment inside. We have selected high quality pocket-sprung beds to ensure a comfortable night’s sleep for our guests.
Dining: The apartment has a fully fitted kitchen to allow guests to cater for themselves, if that is what they want. However, there is a full range of eating establishments within easy walking distance of the apartment from an Italian bistro for breakfast just 2-minutes walk away to top-class restaurants such as The Glasshouse for business entertaining.
Billing & Payment: We recognise that the Corporate Traveller will require appropriate documentation for business expenses. You will receive fully itemised company invoices from JDR-Leisure related to your booking. Payment may be made by personal or company cheque or by debit/credit card. The only thing we ask is that payment is made in advance though other terms may be possible for long-term arrangements.
Flexibility: Flexibility is our watchword! If you have a specific business requirement that does not appear to included, just call us to discuss your needs. For example, although we do not provide in-house caterers as a standard service, we have arrangements in place with a local speciality caterer and can therefore provide this service for you on request. Similarly, we partner with a range of local suppliers to provide packages including theatre tickets, vehicle and telephone hire, airport chauffeur, food/wine/flower celebration packs.
Standards: The apartment has an official four-star rating by Visit Britain, although many of the features and facilities tick the relevant boxes in the five-star category. As we don’t have a dish-washer, we’ll never achieve a five-star rating as that is a mandatory requirement by Visit Britain! The quality of our fixtures, fittings and furnishings are appropriate for an executive/business apartment and, we believe, superior to that seen in many corporate chain hotels.
