The Elgar Suite |

Executive self-catering accommodation in Worcester |
|
What Makes Us Different? How often have you booked self-catering accommodation that was supposed to be “quality” and then been disappointed with numerous things that really “niggle” you? We have gone out of our way to make the Elgar Suite the exception!
Entertainment You won’t be straining your eyes trying to see an old, cheap 15” TV screen from the other side of the room. The accommodation benefits from a modern 26” LCD digital HD-ready television set in the lounge. The master bedroom also has its own 26” LCD television. |

Although the TV’s receive Freeview digital channels, we also provide access to Sky satellite channels (includes Sky Movies and Sky Sports at no extra charge!). In addition, we have a small library of DVDs. No, not just the free ones that come with the Sunday newspaper but a selection of the latest DVD releases. Similarly, you can relax to the sound of the CD hi-fi system…. a small collection of CDs provided.
Dining Although the apartment sleeps up to 3, you will find crockery and cutlery for 6 place settings. This means that you will not be forever having to wash things up to make another drink or if you have friends or relatives round, there should be plenty of crockery and cutlery to go round. And, the crockery is all matching too. Oh, and no, it was not bought at Woolworths! You will also find a good selection of glasses for those evening drinks, including large and small wine glasses, beer glasses and tumblers for spirits/mixers or soft drinks. We have also provided a small selection of plastic crockery for children.
Cooking Have you struggled to cook in other accommodation, attempting to serve up a family meal in a variety of strange cooking implements? Although you won’t be wanting to spend your whole holiday cooking, you should find just as wide a variety of saucepans, baking tins, casserole dishes etc as you’ll find in a typical family home. We always keep the apartment stocked up with good quality tea bags, coffee and other essential items such as washing-up liquid, washing powder…… A full list of what you won’t need to bring will be provided when making a reservation. And you won’t be struggling with a blunt 20-year old vegetable knife; we have a good range of professional chef’s knives. All of the appliances are top quality from Zanussi - built-in oven and hob, washer-drier and family-size fridge-freezer.
Sleeping Our beds are all of a high standard with good quality ‘pocket’ sprung mattresses. All required bed linen is provided; that includes sheets, duvet, duvet covers, pillows (non-allergenic polyester filled) and pillow slips. Each bedroom has its own bedside lamp (2 for the king-size bed) and radio/alarm clock.
Children Being right in the city centre, we may not be the first choice for a family holiday. However, we think we’ve “gone the extra mile” to make the little ones feel at home too. The accommodation has a couple of low-voltage night lights if your children prefer sleeping with a low light on. The DVD collection includes a few films suitable for the kids, as well as you having access to CBBC, CBeebies etc on the TV. There is also a small selection of games for their amusement. As already noted, the kitchen has a small selection of children’s crockery and cutlery as well as plastic drinking beakers. Also available is a travel cot, high chair, buggy and car booster seats all of which can be hired for £5 per week or part thereof.
Local information No holiday accommodation would be complete without masses of out-of-date, moth-eaten tourist leaflets! Not here! Although the Worcester Tourist Office is just 5-10 minutes walk away, we do make an effort to provide up-to-date information about local attractions, which is held in a smart presentation folder. You will find details of local restaurants, including recommendations from other guests in our ‘Restaurant Journal’.
